I would have done a sticky post to stay at the top until next week but I haven't a clue how to do it, lol!
Closing date for entry is midnight on Thursday 31 July 2014.
Okay, now on to today's post. Chocolate Baroque have been a favourite stamp company of mine for years and in fact, it was seeing the owner Glenda Waterworth demonstrating on a well known TV craft channel that got me hooked on stamping in the first place. Boy, does Glenda have a lot to answer for, lol! Little did I dream when I saw that program that I would be lucky enough to become one of the original members of Glenda's first design team back in the days when the company was known as Elusive Images. I was very sad when family commitments meant I had to resign from the team but I have never lost my love for their stamps and was so pleased to see the new Chocolate Baroque Challenge Blog appear on the scene and I knew I had to have a go.
The first challenge is a colour one and there's lots of lovely inspiration from their current talented design team which you can see here. I translated the colours into Distress Inks Scattered Straw, Festive Berries, Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean and using brushes to lay down the background colour I kept them very light and soft. I sprinkled water droplets and then blotted off some of the colour. I followed this with some light stencilling and background stamping with the Scattered Straw.
Other stamping is done with Archival Black and painted with the Distress Inks. I stamped the butterflies onto separate card, coloured and cut them out and attached by just the bodies. The lace is dipped into watery DI's on my craft mat.
I used Chocolate Baroque stamp set Harebell Butterfly and the word was taken from a stamp on their Artistic Affirmations set.
Right, I'm off to add this to their link up. Anyone can enter the challenge and if you use CB stamps you will be entered into a random draw for £15 to spend on their website, ;D! It's a monthly challenge launching on the 3rd Wednesday of every month so still plenty of time to enter. I might even get another one done, lol!
See you again soon.
Hugs
Lesley Xx

Love your tag Lesley, the soft background is sooo pretty. The lace provides a very effective base, and the colouring of your flowers is lovely. Your butterflies perched on the tag are beauties. Thank you for entering the Chocolate Baroque Challenge, Judith xx

I really enjoyed reading your post Lesley. Mrs. W. has got a lot to answer for!! lol! I purchased my first stamps in Australia "back in the day" and couldn't find anything I liked in the UK until I saw Glenda on the TV. I have also been hooked on CB stamps ever since. Gorgeous tag. Love your interpretation of the colors. Thank you for playing along with the challenge.

As you can guess I have a large 'stamp collection' Chocolate Baroque of course and keep meaning to make something for this new challenge. I love your tag with the delicate background which goes so well with these delicate flowers. The vibrant butterflies are stunning.
Gorgeous tag Lesley. I love the depth of colour and the colouring of the lace looks super at the base of your design. I love many of the CB butterflies, I know we share that passion and a large collection of their fluttering stamps! Elaine xxx

What a beautiful tag! I love those butterflies! I haven't been crafting all that long, as you know, so I don't have any CB stamps! I really must rectify that, as they look lovely! I've been getting a bit behind with commenting lately, so I'm off to see your previous post right now! Julie Ann xxx

Gorgeous, love how you used the colours Lesley, the butterflies look amazing and you have the texture of the lace, double whammy :D Love it !!! Hugs Gay x
Stunning Tag Lesley, very pretty with gorgeous pops of colour. I too am a Glenda fan, it was Dawn Bibby who got me interested in stamping but it was Glenda who taught me how to use them. Miss her on TV & have never had the pleasure of attending any workshops she has run.
You do the stamps a great service as your colouring is amazing. Looking forward to seeing more CB posts from you:-) xxx
Beautiful tag... those butterflies & your background are stunning. Came back today to leave a comment because I was stuck with a card design today & then I remembered your lace dipped in DIs & voila.... problem solved. Thank you for your help !!
