Phew it's been another warm one in this neck of the woods today and I've just got all hot and bothered taking the dog for a walk at 10 o'clock at night! I think I'm the only one I know who's really not happy with the heat so apologies for moaning.
Anyway, inspite of my baking hot craftroom I've managed to make a project for the PaperArtsy Blog Challenge this week. I have to say this whole week has had a project every single evening that I have really loved and I am hoping I manage to make another entry to the challenge tomorrow. For this one I took my inspiration from Teresa Abajo's lovely hanging piece and liked it so much I've really cased it, lol! I used an MDF tag as I didn't have one of the papier mache hanging boards so it's a bit bigger. I followed Teresa almost to the letter so please take a look at her post HERE for the details.
Look at that fab crackle!
I added a bit of shading to one side of the butterfly wings with a rolled up kitchen towel & Watering Can Archival ink.
I also added shading around the edges with Mud Splat Fresco Finish
Added a bit more stamping at the bottom because of the bigger surface I worked on.
That's it from me tonight. Hope I get chance for another piece tomorrow so off to look at all the fab posts on the PaperArtsy Blog for this week to try and decide which one.......decisions, decisions, lol!
totally gorgeous tag, Lesley. Need to go to bed soon so I can get up and get something done for this tomorrow!
Fabulous tag Lesley. Set beautifully in its background. Xx
Fabulous as usual Lesley, love the colours, very subtle.
Stunning Tag Lesley, beautiful colours and a great pop of turquoise. You are a very talented lady & always have projects that inspire me:-) xxx
Fabulous tag Lesley. Love the colour combination, very pretty.
Oh WOW Lesley, what fantastic crackle, colours and layout work perfectly
Gorgeous Lesley, perfect casing and I love how you have finished your larger surface! The crackle has worked out brilliantly too!!
wow Lesley Gorgeous tag!! fantastic crackle and beautiful colour..I love it!! xxx
An amazing tag and I really like the delicate colours you've used - beautiful. It does seem churlish to complain about the heat but I prefer it when it is a little cooler - getting hot and bothered when sitting still is just too much!!
Great tag Lesley, you know how I always struggle with crackle, no matter what medium I use! I love all the little touches, including the muslin, the script and the shaded butterfly. A really smashing project. I am with you on the heat, I currently have a loaf of bread baling in the oven and am keeping well away from the kitchen until it is turned off and cooling down! Elaine xxx
Lesley, this is super-chic! I love it! The Crackle worked so well and the little details and shading are all great touches! This is a real beauty! PaperArtsy spoiled us for inspiration this week, didn't they? Julie Ann xxx
I love this Lesley, just so pretty. I need to buy more stuff!! I feel like I'm missing out cos I don't own much arty stash :( but where to begin and how much! lol
I too prefer cooler temperatures...

Fantastic Lesley! I love that my piece inspired you :) Isn't that crackle fabulous?!?
Wow, stunning Lesley your crackle is amazing. I love how you've decorated the tag too, from the colours to the butterfly.
Stunning Lesley! Gorgeous wall hanging xxx
I am hating the heat, I suffer ever year, I sleep even less than usual and get more colds and sore throats than i do in winter.
Beautiful, love the neutrals with the blues. With you on the heat, maybe it's an age thing lol!
beautiful tag Lesley, love the delicate colours and the soft muslin(?) behind the word - and you got a lovely crackle finish too, very envious of that bit!
Wonderful tag! Cracked the surface is fab and beautiful details, I really love this white world xx
