Hi Everyone and I hope you are having a lovely Sunday doing what you love best.
I didn't think I was going to manage an entry to this fortnight's PaperArtsy Blog Challenge which is all about sprays as Leandra describes so well HERE. The PaperArtsy DT have shared some absolutely stunning makes, as always, and I can't wait to try some of them. However, I had a couple of birthdays for the beginning of the month and decided to try something using sprays for one of them.
It was the very lovely and also very talented Hazel's birthday just 3 days before my own (more about that in another post). Please drop by her blog if you get chance as she shares some fabulous makes and her enthusiasm for anything involving craft is so contagious! Anyway, for her card I took inspiration from Leandra's introduction to the various sprays and found a card on Pinterest by the brilliant Eileen Godwin which I wanted to try but using a different method to her altogether. I will try her tissue paper method at some point though because it looks great.
I have several different types of sprays in my stash all sadly neglected but by far the majority of them are Glimmer Mists which I have had for years and I daren't count them ;-/ These are the ones I chose to use here.
I used the stencil I made myself for the bokeh technique and kept moving it around using a different colour spray each time and drying thoroughly with the heat tool in between each spray.
I then added some stencilling using Versamagic ink and finally stamped some Artemio silhouette images and the butterflies over the top before layering onto the card base. Obviously with using a stencil I got a bit of bleed underneath which could also have been due partly to the card I used but I quite liked the effect and overall I was really pleased with the outcome.
Off to link up my entry now and catch up on the details of each of the PaperArtsy DT share over the past two weeks as I've only managed a brief look at the photos and I know there's lots of tips and ideas to soak up.
Thanks for dropping by.
Hugs
Lesley Xx

I love my card Lesley, it is a little treasure and I am flattered that you chose to send it to me! The overlapping shapes and colours are fabulous and the ribbon complements it perfectly! Thanks for a little piece of art to keep! Xx
I love this card Lesley, and must explore this technique more...
BEAUTIFUL card Lesley, so many wonderful layers. Your use of your bokeh stencil gives depth to your card and the colours you have used are divine. A wonderful birthday card :-) xxx

Lovely bright colours Lesley, a great use of those Glimmer Mists, mine are gathering dust too. I really love the way you have layered the different elements and finishing with the silhouette stamp works really well. The ribbon with the little tag is smashing, I love tiny extras like that. I can see why Hazel was delighted with her card. Elaine xxx
A gorgeous card and great technique Lesley. I might have to give this idea a go with all of my glimmer mist's.
