A Birthday Card for one of my very special people.

Hi Everyone,

Woops!  It's been a few weeks since I managed a post but I'd had enough of my mega hot craftroom (conservatory) during most daylight hours and what I did manage to make I can't show yet.  Happily for me things are cooling down although we do seem to have our own little weather pocket here at the moment and are still having very comfy temperatures and lots of sunshine unlike most other areas of the UK from what I can gather.  It does get a bit nippy in the evenings though!  I managed to have a really good cleaning session in the craftroom on Monday (although lots of tidying still needed) which took me hours but made me feel very virtuous, lol!

Anyway, today I can now share a card with you that I made for a lovely girl who has become very special to our family, my Son & his Daughter in particular.  Yvonne is partner to Jamie and much loved Step Mum to Alexa and this is the card I made for her birthday.

Because the colours are very subtle I found it difficult to capture them on the photos but I used a lovely piece of Prima paper from one of Finnabair's collections and overstamped on the right side with an IndigoBlu corner flourish stamp.  I used Watering Can Archival Ink stamping twice each time between inking.  The sentiment stamp is from Heartfelt Creations and is stamped in the same ink onto another piece of the Prima paper, die cut with a Spellbinder label and layered onto Co'ordinations card cut with a matching fancy label die.  I used the same Co'ordinations card for the poppy diecut and to matt & layer.

I used the same method of stamping the flourish for the inside of the card and the sentiment is from Inkylicious.

It took me blooming ages to get that bow exactly how I wanted it, lol, but I was really pleased with the finished card.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope it's not weeks before I can post again ;-)

Hugs
Lesley  Xx

This stunning Lesley, I love the monochrome colour. Glad it's cooling down in your craftroom, it's not been too bad here during the days but it get quite chilly in the evenings and overnight.

This is a gorgeously elegant card Lesley and I am sure Yvonne loved it. The understated monochrome colour palette is lovely, I especially love those flourishes in different tones and the way you have stamped inside the card too. Something I have rarely done, but am just starting to get into now. It was worth the time to get the bow right, I love the use of the two types of ribbon. Beautiful work my friend and I am certain very much appreciated. Elaine xxx
