Hello and welcome,
Over on the PaperArtsy blog the lovely and very talented Carol Quance has been giving us lots of inspiration this week with some fabulous projects but as I had rather a lot on my plate this past week I had decided I really didn't have time to join in the challenge. However, it kept niggling at me and on the spur of the moment late yesterday evening I decided to have a go at something taking Carol's first gorgeous project of the week as my inspiration. I don't have one of the pencil cases Carol used (must rectify that very soon) so I dug a little box out of my stash to alter.
Please bear in mind that I did all the work on this box by artificial light including taking the photographs and I have a distinct feeling that when I see it in daylight later in the morning (it's currently 01.30) I am not going to be happy with the paint job, lol! When I was editing the photos just now, the paint looks patchy to me but I'll reserve judgement till daytime. I hope I still like it though because the crackle is gorgeous! No 'how to' in this post as I've more or less followed Carol's method HERE.
Do pop over to the PaperArtsy blog if you get chance. August has seen the 10th birthday of this fabulous company and there have been blog posts every day throughout the month from some wonderful designers together with a weekly challenge and random draw giveaways. I was a lucky winner of some fab newly released stamps last week ;D!
Right, I'm off to link my little box to the challenge and then it's off to bed. I'm going to be busy in the morning getting ready for my lovely daughter to come visit for a few days with Izzy and Charlie so I won't get much chance for blog hopping and none at all for crafting I should think. Never mind, it will still be there when they go home and time with them is precious 'cos they are growing up far too fast.
Enjoy what's left of the weekend, including the extra day off for us here in England, and I hope the week ahead is a good one for you all.
Until next time
Hugs
Lesley Xx

It looks great, well done on the crackle, mine failed miserably.
I love this box - I hope you do still like it in the morning, it is amazing how different things look in artificial light!
I was trying to crackle something yesterday that failed (my fault though)
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and the time with the family next week.
Talk about burning the midnight oil - this is brilliant and I do hope you are still happy with it in the cold light of day. Well done for winning some Paper Artsy stamps too - they have some great ones I know. Enjoy your weekend.
Ooh it's a gorgeous creation Lesley. Just popped over to the blog the see the original idea and now I'm thinking that the square tissue box holder I've had for ages could benefit from that treatment. Love those Fresco paints and think I'll be getting a few more when I go to Port Sunlight. Missed a lot on the blogs this last couple of weeks due to visitors and life in general but hoping to catch up soon.

Gorgeous box. Great crackle and stencil detail. Really like it
1.30!!! That's dedication Lesley. What an amazing box, I hope you still like it when you get up this morning, because I love it, such a great crackle effect you got too.
Thanks for your lovely comments you left on my blog the other day, they were very appreciated. Have a great weekend.

Well to my eyes it looks fabulous, great box! Hope you got to sleep in this morning!
Ooooh lurvley box Lesley.
That crackle is something else and of course the colour is just stunning.
It is funny how things look 'so' different in daylight, you'd not think it'd make that much difference would you, but it sure does!!!

Absolutely delicious colours & I love the touch of braiding with the little clasp. The crackle looks a dream & I suspect that cornflower might sort of tumble into the basket when the CB release is made........
Have a super time with family.
Much love

That looks truly fab Lesley. Talk about burning the midnight oil!
it's really lovely Lesley - had to have a quick peek at the PA blog to see just how you did it! Will have to get some of that paste, it's a great effect
It's beautiful, Lesley - so subtle and vintage in its look. Gorgeous greens!
