THIS YEAR'S CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

I thought I'd just show you a few pictures of our outside Christmas lights for this year now they've had to come down and everywhere looks so drab (except where you've had more snow of course). As you may imagine, I'm dreading the next electricity bill!

This is the front

and this is the back

Aren't the lights just beautiful? As you have no doubt guessed they are definitely not our lights, Lol! The top two are photos of the castle in the Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, Orlando, after they put the lights on halfway through our holiday in November and the bottom two are photos taken in Hollywood Studios (MGM as it used to be). There is a whole street where every building is covered in lights and at 8.00 pm every night they 'dance' to the Christmas music that is played. Absolutely magical!

It was going to Orlando at the same time of year 20 years ago that started me off wanting pretty twinkling lights outside our house at Christmas but I think I have managed to keep it fairly under control and not too tacky I hope. Our little granddaughters loved them this year. Go back on my blog to January 3rd 2009 if you want to see what our house really looks like at Christmas.

I hope it won't be too long before my next post and I'm hoping that will be of something crafty. It's about time, Lol.

Hope you've all had a good Christmas and New Year.

Lesley Xx

Happy New Year, Lesley. Isn't that castle utterly gorgeous?! I want one! I'm sure your Christmas lights were just as lovely though. I know what you mean about when you have to take them down, and everywhere looking so drab. Anyway, here's to lots of crafting in 2010, and I'll be looking forward to seeing your lovely creations. Also hope Sally & I will get the chance to meet up with you this year. xx

Fabulous photos, Lesley! You threw me for a few seconds then. I've been trying to guess where you live as I spent most of my childhood in Warsop... about 15 mins from Rufford. I didn't remember anything that grand in the area, lol!!! Looking forward to seeing your creations in 2010. happy New Year my friend!

How magical it all looks Lesley. The castle looks superb and brilliant pictures.

It's a few years since we went to Orlando for New Year, but I do remember the Christmas paprade being fantastic. Since been to the one in Paris in December, but without the heat it's not quite the same.

Happy New Year.

You had me fooled Lesley. I was merrily scrolling down saying to my DH Wow have you seen these outside lights when I got to the bottom and realised!!!!
They are gorgeous though, aren't they.
We have got the snow which makes up for the loss of the twinkly lights but, boy, is it cold!!!!

And to think John gets them all put up in one weekend! Yours are actually much more classy than Mickey's.
